PortServer TS 8-16 from Digi delivers simple, reliable and cost-effective network connectivity for multiple serial devices. RS-232 provides an easy connection to any serial device. The modem emulation allows existing modem-based applications to make connections over IP networks. The incorporated RealPort makes it possible to establish a connection between the host and networked serial device, allowing software applications to work with networked device servers instead of requiring a host adapter. The device also features SNMP management, SSH for creating secure IP network, port buffering and support for Windows and various flavours of UNIX.

A single AccelePort C/X host PCI Universal (3.3V & 5V) adapter, which includes a powerful on-board processor, can support up to eight C/CON Concentrators, providing up to 128 surge-protected ports from a single slot on your server. A system can start out with eight or sixteen ports and easily expand by adding C/CON concentrators. For ease of installation and optimum flexibility, the concentrators can be located up to 1,000 feet (305 meters) from the host server. A fiber optic cabling option allows you to locate your workgroups up to 1.25 miles (2 km) apart.

Digi's One SP Device Server device server is designed for standard serial-to-Ethernet connectivity. It is ideal for applications requiring simple and easy-to-use data communications. The modem emulation allows support for devices designed only for modem communications. They feature TCP/UDP socket services for broad device connectivity and application use. It allows easy configuration using the installation CD and through web interface (HTTP).

PortServer TS delivers 4 ports of standard serial-to-Ethernet connectivity simply and reliably. It easily addresses the growing need to connect individual devices to the network over industry standard Ethernet in many applications.

Offering an out-of-the-box alternative to internal PCI cards, Digi's Edgeport USB-to-Serial Converter adds serial, USB or parallel ports to a PC or server. The installation does require opening of the chassis, reconfiguration or a reboot of the system. It helps add up to 16 serial ports to a PC, thin client or server in minutes.
