Zebra® Indio enhances any PC running Aurora Imaging Vision software, transforming it into a fully functional vision controller. It integrates industrial I/O and communication tools, providing hardware-managed synchronization for vision applications with automation hardware. Additionally, it offers Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for GigE Vision® cameras using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) as well as interfacing with programmable logic controllers.
Accurate synchronization
Zebra Indio leverages a dedicated hardware system for real-time I/O management, ensuring precise event triggering. This system can initiate output events at designated times or based on input events from discrete sources such as rotary encoders. Hardware-stored output events execute following clock signals or input events, causing state transitions, pulses, or pulse trains on specific outputs. The system includes multiple hardware timers capable of counting or generating specific events.
Gigabit Ethernet functionality
Zebra Indio's Gigabit Ethernet port, accessed through an RJ45 connector, supports industrial networking protocols such as EtherNet/IP™, Modbus®, and PROFINET®, with hardware assistance for PROFINET ensuring prompt communication. The port also connects to GigE Vision cameras, providing PoE support.
PCIe® x1 interface integration
Take advantage of precise synchronization with 16 discrete digital I/Os available through a D-Sub connector. It supports 24 V and TTL signaling for both factory-floor and laboratory use and offers protection through optical isolation and resettable fuses. Status indicator LEDs for each I/O facilitate troubleshooting. It also supports two rotary incremental encoders and provides a Gigabit Ethernet port for industrial communication or GigE Vision video capture.

The Aurora Design Assistant and Aurora Imaging Library software offer full support for Zebra Indio, granting access to its industrial communication and GigE Vision features.

Includes eight opto-isolated inputs, configurable for 24 V or TTL operation, supporting up to 100 mA, and generates system interrupts. Eight outputs, which are also opto-isolated and jumper-selectable for 24 V or TTL, include status LEDs. The card’s Gigabit Ethernet port supports PROFINET with hardware assistance and provides PoE up to 15.4 W. Designed for 24 V and TTL signaling, it includes resettable fuses for protection.
